Work

Proof in the shipping.

A selection of what we’ve built, for ourselves and for clients. Some we can name, most we cannot. Specialised industries come with confidentiality. Here is what we can share.

GIMLabs · Our SaaS product

Building GIMLabs.

Problem

Ground investigation is split across field, office, and lab. Crews capture data on paper or ruggedised laptops. Engineers cross-check it in the office. Labs send results by email. Reports go out via Excel templates. The dominant tools (gINT, HoleBASE) are powerful but carry decades of architectural debt: cloud collaboration is awkward, mobile capture is bolted on, and data gets re-keyed between systems on every project.

Approach

Build one connected platform spanning the full pipeline from field to final report. Offline-first mobile capture (Log). Web-based review and validation with mapping and BGS layers (Manage). Native Excel integration that reads live from the cloud (Calc). A drag-and-drop PDF template designer (Template). A read-only cross-project explorer (Insight). A granular client portal (Connect). A configuration hub holding it all together (Product OS). Familiar mental models for anyone coming from legacy tools, AGS 4 throughout.

Outcome

GIMLabs is in day-to-day use on site. The whole pipeline (mobile capture, office review, Excel workflows, PDF reporting, client sharing) runs through one source of truth. Full AGS 4 compliance. Data migration from gINT and HoleBASE takes minutes, not months. Active development continues with input from the field.

Soiltechnics · Data Export Tool

Unlocking data from legacy geotech systems.

Problem

Critical project data across the ground-investigation industry sits inside legacy databases with proprietary schemas and limited export options. Engineers wanting CSVs for migration, analysis, or handover were stuck doing manual SQL digs or paying for consulting time to extract what should already be theirs.

Approach

A native Windows desktop tool that reads legacy geotech databases directly. Walks their normalised schemas across dozens of tables, resolves the internal relationships and lookup values, and produces one clean CSV per entity, packaged as a ZIP. Single-file executable, Soiltechnics-branded, no dependencies to install.

Outcome

Engineers at Soiltechnics can now pull their own data out themselves. One project or many, ready for migration, analysis, or handover. No specialist knowledge, no consulting bills, no waiting on third parties to unlock data they already own.

Under NDA

The work you won’t see here.

A fair amount of what we build is commercially sensitive. Internal tools, proprietary pipelines, software that sits behind competitive advantage. Clients ask us not to publish, and we don’t. If a current engagement sounds close to what you’re planning, ask and we’ll tell you what we can under the right conversation.
